Children can be fun, challenging, noisy, thoughtful, surprising, and faithful. They can stretch adults with their questions. From their earliest days, they are spiritual beings depending on meaningful adults to guide them in their journey to faith.
The mission of the Children’s Ministry is to be used by God in the spiritual development of children.
We serve children from birth through 5th grade who come from many different racial, socioeconomic, and spiritual backgrounds. We work together to ensure they grow up as part of a faith community who loves and nurtures them, while providing experiences that creatively introduce them to their heavenly Father.
We are blessed with volunteers of all ages (from teens to grandparents) who serve as traditional classroom teachers, workshop teachers, shepherding leaders, classroom assistants, hall monitors/principals, liaisons with families, craft room leaders, playground monitors, administrative helpers in the workroom and in providing supplies, and in other areas as well. Prospective volunteers are required to complete an application, pass a criminal background check, and sign a Code of Ethics in order to provide a safe environment for children and adults.
The Children’s Ministry Team includes Andrea Clonch, Linda Heard, Terri Peterson, and Susan Teel. Ministry Leader Rendi Hahn can be contacted at hahn.family@sbcglobal.net.
Our Core Values
- We value children, created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26), valued by Jesus (Mark 10:14), and given as an inheritance from the Lord (Ps. 127:3 – 5).
- We value Biblical teaching and learning experiences that lead children to a transforming relationship with Christ.
- We value a church community where all children are loved, encouraged, trained, and mentored by Christians of all ages.
- We value an environment where children learn to share their faith and reach out in service to others.
